Please if anyone can help me save some time....Is there a way to activate/use the telephony feature? The system is set up on dial up networking at a residence. Only (1) phone line....Can WinXP Home Edition be set to kick off line when a caller attempts to call the residence.

How to set the number of rings for RAS Auto-Answer in Windows Server 2003, in Windows XP Professional, in Windows Server 2000, and in Windows NT 4.0

If you are asking if XP can be set to detect when someone is calling the line and disconnect, Microsoft removed distinctive ring support from Windows 2000 & XP! The Unimodem5 driver included with these versions of Windows does not support distinctive ring. Application software using TAPI does not receive any distinctive ring information provided by your modem.

Your only choice here is to go to a third party product that will work if your phone line is set up for disctinctive ring tones.
