Telework support best practices

By srs ·
It looks like my employer is going to be testing a telework program with company provided PC, internet access, phone line, etc. I was wondering if anyone has experience supporting users and systems in this sort of environment -- it's one thing if my users are at another site on the WAN, I'm worried it's going to be another thing when it's a broadband VPN connection between me and them....

Thanks!

Some resources that I've been looking into for the burgeoning telework program that I am supporting include:
http://www.gsa.gov/telework
http://www.telework.gov
http://www.telework-connection.com/

GSA has a "Telework 2004: The Future is Now" CD that is available for review. From the description, this CD includes best practices from a panel of users who have been teleworking for 10+ years.

Telework.gov has several links to various studies, training, etc. that Federal & State agencies have conducted over the last few years.

CNNMoney Article (1-99):

I'm not sure how technical the resources above get. A lot of it is from the user's perspective, not the Help Desk's.

Good luck :).
