Telnet and Proxy Client

By brianw ·
Hi, We connect to a data proc. provider using telnet sessions. We have one router for the internet and one to connect to the DP provider. I have Proxy client installed on all my pcs. When the client is Enabled, I cannot Telnet through the DP router but I can Telnet out the Inet Router. When the client is Disabled,I can Telnet out either router.

What's up with this? and is there a way to Telnet to DP with the Proxy Client up?

Thanks for the help! Brian

Telnet and Proxy Client

by Bert Bolin In reply to Telnet and Proxy Client

More than likely your Proxy client is not configured to allow communications on the Telnet port through your "DP" router. Make sure that Port 23 is open as that is the standard port for the Telnet application. Also is your proxy client compatible with the DP router? Since you didn't give more details about the client or the kind of routers you are using, etc I can really only give the general advice to make sure that the port is open.

Good luck :)
