Hi,
I am new to networking side. I am trying to do the following exercise but I have no idea why its not working.
I have 2 laptops (one running XP home and other XP professional). I am trying to telnet from one pc to another (using internet). They are connected through a wireless network on same cable modem gateway. I can ping the IP gateway but I cannot ping the my laptop(s). It shows the error, request timed out. I think it has something to do with security. And due to my limited knowledge in this field I have no idea what to do next. The whole purpose of this exercise is to gain some knowledge on networks. I just want to see if I can remotely login into my laptop using my other laptop.
