Term Server will not Shutdown

By shizmoney ·
I have a Terminal Server that I just started administrating, but I can't figure out why I don't have the shut down option available to me. I can hit start-shutdown, but when I get to the security screen I only get log-off. I caheck the policies and there are all fine. Can someone please help me.

Domain security policy / Group Policy which prohibits "general" or "domain" users & groups from shutting down the computer.

No shutdown in term server....

Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and select shutdown / shutdown restart from there.

are you logged on as a local administrator? If so, you can do this. If you do not have the ability to click on a "Shut Down" button, then you do not have sufficient rights.

you can do either of the two:
1) Verify that your user account is a member of the servers local administrator group

2) if the server is in a domain, ensure your account is a member of the domain admins group and the domain admins group is a member of the local server adminstrators group
