Terminal Server

By PMidnite ·
I have a remote office logging in via remote desktop to a Terminal Server 2003; And I have a printer attached to the remote pc via parallel cable; I can see it under "Printers" on the Server once a "session" is established and even prints ok. I have set the printer as Default but when I log out of the Session and log back into the Server; I see my "session" printer but it will not save(keep) my "set as default" checked. Why? What am I overlooking either on the TS Server 2003 or on the remote PC???

You need to check either the user properties (in Computer Management or Active Directory Users and Computers) to see what the settings are for the Terminal Services under the environment tab (it should be ticked to allow both "Connect Client Printers" & "Default to Main Client Printer".

If you are using TS Client for W2K or RDP under XP then you also need to check the client options for the connection.

Hopefully this should be where you will rectify the problem.

Make sure Printer's drivers are installed on Windows Terminal Server (must be the same than the workstation)
