Terminal Server

Hi all,
I just rebooted my NT TS,SP6, and all I can see is a black screen with the Windows TS logo at the bottom of the screen, and the cursor. It does not load the GUI and when I tried ctr-alt-del it does not bring the task manager. I cannot turn it off unles I press the power button, but obviously that’s not my concern. I just want to be able to get in. Thanks for your help!.

Which service pack did you load? Terminal Server requires different service packs. If you used the ones for NT4, then you will probably need to reload, from scratch.

However, if you loaded the Terminal Server service pack, then something did not load or install correctly. Sounds like the OS is ‘toast’

Thanks for your reply. I found out that the APC Powerchute service was not loading correctly, so I started a remote session to TS and uninstalled the APC program. TS Works fine now.

While in a Terminal Services session, press Ctrl/Alt/End (rather than Ctrl/Alt/Del) to get to the task manager of ther terminal session. In the configuration of the Client Session, you should specify WINDOW rather than FULL SCREEN to enable you to have access to both the TS session as well as to your PC. Hope this addresses your problem.
