I have a win2k terminal server (sp2, also running metaframe 1.8 w/sp3) that I want to install macromedia flash on. I also want to be able to use windows update. When I try to do either, I get a pop up window that ie is having a problem and will close. In my event log, I get ie event 1000, which says “The description for Event ID ( 1000 ) in Source ( Microsoft Internet Explorer ) could not be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: iexplore.exe6.0.2600.Riched20.dll 5.30.23.1205, 00002b1b”
That message was not helpful (it says it even when logged on locally. At first thought it could have been group policy, but I got the same message even when logged onto local machine. Tried ie6 repair and reinstallation of sp2, no help. It crashed 3 times yesterday. Any ideas?
