Terminal Services

By jedmonds ·
Hi folks,

I've got a W2K server running Terminal Services which was running happily until I joined the W2K server to a W2K3 SBS domain (ie. I removed Active Directory and then rejoined the W2K server to the new domain).

Now Terminal Services only ever comes up with a "local policy does not permit you to logon interactively" unless you logon as administrator.

Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to get it working?

I have had this happen to me before and if I'm thinking correctly, I had to remove the terminal server software and reinstall it..

Good Luck..

PJ, You may need the licensing service installed?

You most certainly will need the service installed, out of the box you get a 120day period to install the service or you will be disabled. Best bet install it at the time of TS installation.

Also to the original poster.. To remove/reinstall the Terminal Server software you must go to add/remove program and choose the windows component removal/add tool to do this, and you will need your OS cd.

If there is anything you wish to add please do so..

Good Luck once again:)

I only had to re-install TS Licensing on the W2K box and change some of the domain-wide group policies from W2K3 SBS Server.

You may need TS Licensing service installed on a W2K3 server to allow TS to work.

I didn't have to install TS on the W2K3 SBS server as it's there by default anyway.
