A shame

by jdclyde In reply to Roger Wilco

I know what the show is, but it was off the air before my time....... Never even got to watch it on "nick at nite" either.

How about "one adam twelve, one adam twelve".

thing. Sounds like you missed a lot of the good shows. :)

And it didn't help that

back in about 1973, my parents decided "TV is a waste of time, and we have better things to do" so they disabled the TV and there was not a working TV in the house until after I had moved out in the late 80's. Over 15 years of shows that I missed out on!

Good thing? I read a lot. Bad thing? Loius Lamor books. Talk about NO imagination or variety after the first 10 stories. Still got my comic book collection though! (poor condition thanks to having an older brother, but still have the "cool" factor with my boys!)

And what do they think about TV NOW you ask? They currently have SIX tv's, all connected to cable and most with a dvd / vcr connected to them.

I get to walk in and tell THEM what a waste of time it is because I never turn one on anymore.

them back in your day you had to walk to school up hill both ways--in 12 inches of snow. :)

it is my PARENTS I am saying this to.

My kids watch some TV and even have one in their room (I don't). I just try to find things we can go and do instead of sit and watch. in 12 inches of snow...

I tell them

that back in the old days, we had to get up and walk across the room to change the channel on the TV (to the other one:)).

Just talked about that with my boys

by jdclyde In reply to I tell them

two days ago!

About how it used to be a knob that made loud clunking noises when you turned it, and how there was only four channels to watch!

And then the first "remotes" had a wire connecting it, and it made the knob turn up or down.

Ah, back in the day....

My parents always had a remote.

by faradhi In reply to I tell them

It was belt driven. (I said no.... Once)

Oh, your parents

Do they have the eye roll down like you probably did some? That is too funny!
