Text Form Field Shading

I have created something liek a survey sheet, and i have inserted text form fields and would liek the shading of these forms to print out.
When i preview it, i can see teh shading, but when it prints, those areas are just blank, i tried formatting each box with a 10% shading fill, but this did not work.
