In reading many emails regarding lack of pay/appreciation, my one recurring thought is quite simple: They are using use, so use them. Do the job, get the “experience”, then start your own company. Go from support to consulting.
It is about being incontrol and who says ” SHOW ME THE MONEY”
Experience is essential, but basic computing and fundemnatels don’t change, they are built upon and refined.
Stay abreast, network, and understand people. The technology is easy in my opinion, its the people who cause the most problems.
If you are confident you can do better, moonlight, build a client base then move on to starting your own company. Just remember your employees may feel like you did, so don’t forget the smell of being on the bottom.
