I sell a lot of things on Craigslist. Up to date, I have four bogus “bank drafts” from scammers – most of them from Nigeria looking for MOGU (big fools).
I walked into a bank whose cashier’s check was draw on to ask if it was real. I didn’t think it was but I wanted the bank to tell me. They couldn’t, they said it looked real. They had to FAX it to the branch! Come on. In 2009 and they can’t look it up?? They called me the day later to say they couldn’t contact the branch because it didn’t exist!! Amazing. They wanted the check. I told them to stuff if – I would contact the media.
