FREE Online URL/Text Encoder/Decoder

by Sukarelawati In reply to The Beauty of Web Program ...

I have been a few times to this Web site to decode encoded text. There you can input any string of text and encode or decode it as you like. It is handy for turning encoded JavaScript URLs from complete gibberish into readable gibberish. If you'd like to have the URL Decoder/Encoder for offline use just VIEW SOURCE and then simply save it to your hard drive.

Go there and see for yourself!

>> Stopping the GoogleBot From Following Individual Links <<

by Sukarelawati In reply to The Beauty of Web Program ...

As most people, know Google uses a Page Ranking system called "PageRank" to aid in determining Search Engine placement. One of the keys for this algorithm is incoming links to your Web site.

In addition, outgoing links are also given weight in the calculation albeit not nearly as much as the incoming ones. This then would tend to make you very careful of who you link to. You can always use a META TAG to exclude all outgoing links on a page. However, instead of blocking all your outgoing links, there is a technique that can resolve questionable links, in regards to the GoogleBot following them.

According to the Google Web site, you can just add a notation to the link. For instance, if you link to XYZ company using the following link CODE:

<a href="http://www.XYZ_Corp.com/">XYZ Corp.</a>

You would add the attribute 'REL="nofollow"' and those links won't be counted in the
calculation. It would look like this:

<a href="http://www.XYZ_Corp.com/" REL="nofollow">XYZ Corp.</a>
