Introduction

by Technologia In reply to The Chronicles of Technol ...

Editor's Note: Welcome to our Technologia Guild
blog. This blog will serve as a central location where members of this
adventurous guild can report progress, make plans for instance raids, ask for help for completing epic quests, etc.

These
reports can be presented in any number of ways. As a community blog, I suggest
we identify ourselves at the beginning of each post. I also propose that blog
entries can be made by our real life (meat space) personas, and/or by our
in-game characters.

Once again
the driving idea behind Technologia is to have some fun with people of
similar-interests. The driving idea behind this blog is the same. If your
character has a particularly interesting experience, it would be fun to hear
about that adventure from the perspective of the character. Certainly, there is
no obligation for this, but I, for one, am going to give it a try.

Also,
remember, this not a literary exercise -- please no editing of style, factual
corrections only.

I have
(showing great courage as guild leader, I might add) taken the plunge with the
next post -- I hope many will follow. Note the format; this will help us keep
track of just who is posting.

Welcome to Azeroth

by Technologia In reply to The Chronicles of Technol ...

Elkwinkarma -- Undead Warlock, Guild
Leader, Technologia

Report -- And so it begins

My name is
Elkwinkarma, a Warlock in the service of the Undead, fighting on the side of
the Horde against the zealous rabble of the Alliance. By circumstance and
happenstance beyond my control, I have been designated the leader of Technologia,
a guild of brave fighters in the World of Warcraft in the land known as
Azeroth.

After the
trauma of being ripped from the restful repose of death, you might say I have
acquired a little attitude. This rage-fueled intensity may have been
interpreted as leadership skill, which accounts for my quick and decisive
ascendancy to guild leader. Of course, my ability to summon demons from other
planes of existence may have been a factor.

After
initial training around my new home, The Undercity, I have taken the battle
directly to the vile humans and their arrogant pursuit of truth and light, as
if they would know it if they saw it. After dispatching the farmers of
Hillsbrad, I have been tasked with terminating the services of several
blacksmiths found in that despicable human village.

Satisfaction in Wailing Caverns

by Technologia In reply to The Chronicles of Technol ...

Elkwinkarma -- Undead Warlock, Guild Leader, Technologia

Report ? Wailing Caverns

I completed all of the known quests in The Wailing Caverns
with the help of Bonky, Catervarii, Dozark and Keres. During the course of the
evening, the only casualties were from falling considerable distances. The
Wailing Cavern is treacherous to negotiate. The winding path is broken in
several places requiring adventurers to leap over deep dark gorges.

One falling incident was caused by Bonky, who mistakenly
assumed that we all bounced like he does when he falls. Apparently, Tauren call
fall great distances without sustaining significant damage. Unfortunately, the
undead are not so lucky. Because we are all bones with little or no flesh, we
just crumple in a pile of indistinguishable broken skeletal parts.

No harm done, I was carrying a Soulstone at the time which
allows me to resurrect instantly on the spot I have fallen; a benefit of the
Warlock?s association with dark forces. Dozark and Keres were not so lucky and
had to use the magic of releasing the soul into ghost form and spiriting back
to our position. Catervarii must have landed on Bonky since he was unscathed by
the fall.

As we ended our trek through the Wailing Caverns I was
concerned about the young Tauren apprentice we met at the entrance. She was not
at her post as we left and couldn?t help but wonder if she was in need of help
somewhere in the deep recesses of the Cavern.

Today, I travel south from the Crossroads. I hear there is a
Tauren guard patrolling the southern road in need of assistance with some grimy
dwarves. Dwarves are a disgusting lot ? boozing braggarts with axes too big for
them to swing properly. They can have their axe; I?ll take my Curse of Agony
and a good Shadow Bolt wand.

BaelModan and an Orphan

by Technologia In reply to The Chronicles of Technol ...

Elkwinkarma -- Undead Warlock, Guild Leader, Technologia

Report --- Bael Modan and an Orphan

For the
last few days I've been exploring some of the outer areas of Kalimdor. Except for the rolling plains of Muglore, I would classify this continent as generally
hostile. I miss the familiarity of my home in the Eastern Kingdom, but duty
calls.

I found
Gann Stonespire patrolling the Southern Gold Road in
the southern section of The Barrens. I was on my way to Thousand Needles, a
particularly hostile part of this world inhabited by Kolkars
--- foul-smelling half-man, half-horse beasts. The Kolkars
and the Taurens are embroiled in a fierce blood feud
that seemingly has no end. Gann was looking for revenge against the Dwarves
mining precious minerals found in the pits of Bael Modan. For a Warlock of my age and acquired skill, the
quests were straight-forward and a pleasure. I am not fond of Dwarves, with
their propensity to exploit any resources they come across without regard to
the consequences of the destruction they leave behind. Like the Scourge who
placed this entire world in turmoil, they are oblivious to anyone or anything
beyond their measly existence. Dispatching a few Dwarves for Gaan was therefore a great deal of fun.

Upon
completion of Gaan's quests I proceeded to Thousand
Needles where I acquired flight privileges from the Horde outpost located
there. Freewind Post sits atop a high mesa right in
the middle of the Thousand Needles area. It is a perfect spot to keep track of
the comings and goings of the various enemies of the Horde as well as the
numerous beasts that roam this barren place.

But I
couldn't stay there --- I had a commitment in Orgrimmar. In a weak moment I had
agreed to escort an orphan Orc child. The idea is to
expand this young Orc's view of the world. While the Orcs are almost single-minded in their warrior ways, they
are also practical about teaching their offspring about the ways of the world.
They follow the principle that in order to defeat your enemies you need to
first know your enemies.

My orphan
asked to see the frontier lands separating Night Elf from Orc,
the docks of Ratchet where Goblins control the flow of goods between
continents, and the throne room located in the Ruins of Lordareon.
He also wanted an autograph from his TaurenWarchief hero and an ice cream. At that point I said enough
is enough and took him back to the orphanage. For the most part he as
well-behaved, at least for an Orc; but I had to
threaten to eat him a few times to get him to settle down. No more charitable
good deeds for this undead Warlock --- a very distasteful experience.

I am
returning to the Undercity for a dip in the green river of ectoplasm --- I need
to feel like an undead again.

Bags and elite quests

by Technologia In reply to The Chronicles of Technol ...

Bags

Elkwinkarma
can now make 10-slot bags. All he needs are the materials:

12 Silks

2 Heavy Leather

I'll make
as many bags as we can handle.

Elite Quests

For the
past week since the wonderful run through Wailing Caverns, most of us have been
doing our own thing. However, I know that a few of us still have some elite
quests we'd like to get finished. Personally, I need to lay down the law to the
council members in Hillsbrad and get the sword back from the dwarves that hang
around out there.

If you have
a quest you'd like help completing, especially if it is an elite quest, add a
comment to this post and we'll see what can be arranged.

Bags and elite quests

by Mark W. Kaelin Editor In reply to Bags and elite quests

By the way, for those of you who are playing the Horde side for the first time, at level 30 or so there are two places to quest and level that you may not have considered before: Stranglehorn Vale (northern area) and Desolace. The Desolace area has a Horde village on the far coast (south) with numerous quest chains and there is Horde friendly area in the middle near the Kodo Grounds with several quests. There is one set of neutral quests on the far coast in the northern quadrant of Desolace also - it is under water which is pefect for a Warlock with the Unending Breath spell.

Bags and elite quests

I wish I had known this last night. I ran the whole Battle of Hillsbrad series by myself. It would have been a whole lot easier with some company. Especially the stupid dwarves!

Let me know if you need some help.
