People loaned you their personal private information for their purpose, for a limited time, and you’re abusing them. You’re failing to delete the data in a timely manner once the purpose has been served. You’re abusing the data for other purposes and by combining it with additional data — much of it obtained from others who have abused the trust by keeping data longer and using it for other purposes than those the individuals from which it was obtained intended.
It is a violation of professional ethics to set up, maintain, or continue to abuse such a system.
