The ‘Ins and Outs’ of RDRAM/ Rimm Memory

by rgoodman . Updated 25 years, 1 month ago

I’ve just ordered a P4 from HP and it will arrive tomorrow..It comes with 128MB PC600 RDRAM Memory…I want to change that out to 2 128MB RDRAM PC800/non-ECC/Samsung[it is configured to handle 256MB PC800]…I do not know yet the model # or the type of mobo…I know very little about RDRAM Memory so my question is: Are there many different or specific types of RDRAM for different mobos/PC’s and how do you determine if what your PC can use or is it much like SDRAM, in that its pretty standard??? Also I see postings of 184 pin modules or sticks—are there different sizes??? I would like to go ahead and order the new memory but I am not sure!!!Any and all info and links concerning RDRAM/Rimm Memory would be appreciated…Thank you…
