The NVIDIA GeForce Graphic Card is not working properly / no. 43

    by matt.olczyk ·

I have a problem with the above-mentioned graphics card. I wanted to start the game on a dedicated card which unfortunately ended in failure. In the toolbox, by clicking on the MOUSE PP, I always had the option to choose whether to use an INTEL 690 or GeForce card. And now yes, I went to the Device Manager, the card was visible, but marked as if there was a problem with the driver. Still, unfortunately, from the graphics card I can not fire it up. Once, at the very beginning, error Number 43 was visible, which is often associated with what I read, that the card has already died of the spirit. But I don’t want to give up so quickly.

First update the driver. Don’t do that from Device Managers but from the makers download site (preferably the site of the maker of the PC/laptop, else the maker of the graphic card).
If that doesn’t help (and it’s unlikely to do) install another card (and it’s driver).

First of all, thanks for the replay. I’ve done what you wanted me to do and it came out with another failure. I will try to install the older version of drivers, maybe that will help. Is it hard to change the graphic card ? I could do that actually, but it’s 4 years old laptop, with an old GPU so the best I could install would be probably GeForce GTX 1090ti, which is still good for another 2-3 years since I usually use it for graphic design / animations and software engineering. Have you ever heard about the stage of difficulty of replacing XBox One S with a PC?

      Wait, what? A LAPTOP?

Sorry but those can be tricky to install properly. Be sure to install a supported OS then the drivers the maker of the laptop supplies.

      Also, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_10_series doesn’t list the 1090 so there’s probably a typo there.

There is a Nvidia GTX 690 out there but sadly your posts are incomplete as in what make, model laptop, what OS and how this issue came to be.

That’s right, the best of NVIDIA’s 10x series is the 1080ti, my mistake. Unfortunately, the external installation (via setup.exe geforce driver) did not work. I added the entry in the registry so that the Windows 11 installer does not check the processor. I performed a clean installation of Windows 11 and it works great, this time formatting the NVMe SSD m.2 SSD completely, but this did not solve the problem, although in the device manager both video cards are now visible as working properly. If not, I’ll unscrew the laptop and see if everything is like on the motherboard plan transistor by a transistor to check out the technical flaw of the device.

But as you said, I will try your way as first mate, because I haven’t done anything that could make the laptop not working properly…

Is Windows 11 supported on that model?

Sometimes it isn’t. I think it shipped with W10 so go back to W10 and use the drivers at the maker’s web site.

-> READ THIS: Sometimes folk install Windows and see that a device is code 10/43 or such. They attempt to install the driver for the device and it fails. What could it be? From my experience we must install drivers in a specific order. My routine is to get the BIOS up to date first, set the BIOS to what the client wants then starting with a BLANK DRIVE (no partitions) do a clean install of a supported OS.

Next we install drivers in the order of CHIPSET then audio, graphics, networking then what else the machine has. If the chipset driver install is skipped you find that code 10 or 43 occurs very often.

Some models don’t offer drivers but a driver pack so you use the maker’s driver kit for those computers.

          Recap:
          1. Current BIOS
          2. Supported OS.
          3. Drivers in the order of CHIPSET, audio, graphics, networking and the rest.

If the machine has some hardware failure then you do a test install with a current Linux to see if that OS does better. If Linux fails you are most likely looking at failed hardware.

Error Code 43 can be caused by hardware problems or driver or settings corruption. To address this issue, we recommend performing a clean install of the latest graphics drivers provided by the system manufacturer since these drivers are customized.
