Anyone else without blog comments?

by colesch In reply to The One Man Band - "What' ...

So, here I am minding my own business while trying to respond to
someone's blog. When I hit the send button, the gears grind and
laugh....."Hey let's mess with this guy, first we'll delete his post,
then spit out a completely meaningless error!"<br />
<br />
Yep, that's what happened. I hit the submit button and I was greeted with the error in RED, "You
must enter a title for your message" So I scroll down to the bottom to
see if I missed a box, and low and behold my post was gone. All that
hard work in complimenting another bloggers work. The back button, can
kind of be like the last known good comman, and yet the blog
programmer, has this set to refresh and purge.<br />
<br />
Luckily, I'm an IT guru, and never trust computer programs or websites
to perform they way one would think. I have backup copies for backup
copies. I learned my lesson once with Yahoo mail, when trying to send a
message and I was greeted with the code picture matching game. You get
one or two tries depending on how the software is feeling at the momet,
but if you can't see their cryptic text obfuscated in the static field,
BAAAM! YOUR MESSAGE HAS BEEN DELETED AND NOT SAVED IN THE OUT OR DRAFTS
FOLDER!!! <br />
<br />
What a useless feature, I know they try to cut back on the spammers
that keep using yahoo, but really has anyone on yahoo seen any less
spam (spam folder included, just cause its in there it doesn't mean
your not getting it.)? I once sent them an email asking if they planned
on offering another method instead of their text because sometimes it's
hard for me to see the letters after starring at a screen for 14 hours,
and now they're obfuscating it, great...."mmmm, Peter, I'm going to
need you to come in on Saturday.....ummm-kay???"<br />
<br />
Luckily I don't use yahoo all that often and have almost completely
switched my plain external email to google. Hush is used for sending
friends encrypted messages asking them what movies we should see over
the weekend. And in a bout of consolidation I have Imap running on my
primary web server. So much legit mail so little time.<br />
<br />
Anywho, I basically setup this blog to catch the html source to see how
I can post comments and submit the data that the server is looking for
rather than relying on the form to ask me the right questions first. I
guess the old saying is, if things could just work the way they were
intended to, or right the first time, us Techies wouldn't be
needed..lol...<br />
<br />
Below is the message I attempted to append the users blog:<br />

Great article! :) I totally agree with you, because as annoying as the
interruption seem on the surface, they allow a moment of down-time to
regroup and re-think the present situation. Plus, they give us techies
something to blab about at the office water cooler...hehe...Still one
of my favorites is when an executive assistant told me that she took
her keyboard home and soaked it in the tub to clean it off. I almost
dropped the phone in laughter. Thank god for mute. lol...<br />
<br />
Typically I don't recommend washing your keyboard in the sink,  or
even a spin dry for your cellphone in the washer. But if you must, just
make sure its completely dry before you plug it back in.<br />

I wonder if the user didn't want comments, I would ask, but his email contacts is greyed out....Oh Joy!...<br />
<br />
Well anyway, if anyone else encounters this issue here is the quick fix:<br />
<br />
1. Click on the "Add Comments" button <br />
2. Then view the source and save it <br />
3. Then in the html header section include a base href tag and include this site's domain name<br />
4. Next scroll down until you see "Form name = addcomment " Its about midway down, searching works faster<br />
5. Look for the hidden subject field, and delete the double quotations from the value<br />
6. Click save, then drop in your web browser<br />
7. Type your comments in the box (you can also type this in the textarea in html)<br />
8. Click Submit...YOUR DONE!!!<br />
<br />
Anyone else know of any easier way around this hassle?<br />
