The Source of All Evil? What's that all about?

By ippirate ·
Just wondering if anyone has seen/noticed this URL for Microsoft:

http://thesource.ofallevil.com/genuine/default.mspx?displaylang=en

I ran across this today while I was running a search for "Microsoft Genuine Advantage".

If anyone has come across this has any information as to what it is all about I am interested in hearing about it.

Cheers!

That is odd

I can't find any information on who that domain name (thesource.ofallevil.com) is registered to. I looked for it at InterNIC (http://www.internic.net/whois.html) and the search says there is no match for that domain name. I don't get it.

Google It

If you Google it you are directed to MS.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=thesource.ofallevil.com

I haven't been able to find any other references on the internet besides the regular OpenSource Evil Empire comments.

How'd you find that?

Oops!

Actually, that information is wrong. I was looking at the wrong IP address. If you ping ofevil.com you get the ip 83.149.67.207. If you do an IP whois you get an ISP in the Netherlands, www.axess.nl.

Further info

by jdmercha In reply to Total Environment Media

The domain was registerd at bulkregister.com in the USA. They "...allow our BulkRegister members full control over their domain name's DNS record. You can edit your domain name's A record, CNAME record, MX record and various other DNS settings."

So further information may be difficult to find.

:)

Or are you talking about "as opposed to those $9.95 XP/Office offers everybody gets in their email"?

There may be a promo at some point, but I know of at least one actual article coming.

Leee,

Apparently the URL is a little old. I found mention of it in NG posts dating back to 2K. It would appear that Billy is either a. To busy to care, b. sleeping on the watch or c. just doesn't give a flip.
