I have a new client that has four machines on a Win2K Server tasked as a domain controller (two assigned to the domain (A,B), two working in a workgroup (C,D)) all running XP Pro SP2 and a MAC network for graphics and advertising. The reception machine (A) was recently replaced due to age and performance issues. Since that time, the two machines assigned to a workgroup can only use the printer on machine (B). The share was created on machine A printer for the network. Trying to create a network printer to access the printer on (A) results in an error. Trying to create a new computer and user to change machine (C) from a workgroup to the domain on the server doesn’t give the computer the appropriate permissions. First, while I think all units should be assigned to the domain, since all computers worked communicated seamlessly prior to the new computer being installed, they should work the same after it is installed. Is this something as simple as a firewall issue? Please advise.
