Okay I’ll give you one. How not to p1ss off your senior developers.

Step one.
Don’t shout at them

Step two
Given they worked hard to get where they are, first show you’ve at least f’ing tried, before you just demand that they help you.

Step three
Remember we need another PM who can’t do the job, like we need another hole in our heads.

Step four
Define best. If more PMs could do that well, we’d be a lot better off.

You want a thesis topic, explain why best practices in terms of software engineering don’t feaure in most solutions, and how to start changing this and the attitudes that lead to it.

Step five.
When you have p1ssed off your senior developer, learn from it, and try real hard not to do it again.

Step six
If you don’t like the answer, ask a question that might give you a more palatable one.
