I am startled. I have mentioned roaches before — in my microwave. This is new. This is entirely new to me. In all my 50 years in Southern California I have not seen this.

My God.

I went to rinse my sherry tumbler and saw antennae moving behind the faucet assembly. Quick as a wink, I grabbed the spray bottle of Windex and hit it. I hit it again, and again, and again; until it finally fell to the floor, cleaned to death, I think.

I was so aghast I slipped a 3X5 note under its, now, lifeless body and have it before me, on my desk.

I measured it. Body: 1.375″ long by 0.5″ wide. Antennae: 1.625″ long. Spikes from its ass: 0.125″ long. It is distinctly dark brown, with light brown head, and two large, what look to be, dark-brown eye orbs.

I have never seen anything like it. Could this be a new species, spawn of the current economic crises?

This, too? Will there be more?

Are there any entomologists among you?
