What is a threat tree?

The only "threat tree" that I am aware of is a process or written procedure... mostly for Help Desk people when responding to customers trying to return a defective item.

Generally it's referred to as an "escalation procedure" and it tends to hierarchical in nature.

If you go to www.cert.org and look at the documentation for the Octave Security model, you will see how to build threat trees.

Essentially its a way of documenting and catagorizing security threats.
