Thumbnail Problem - Windows Vista

By toibry ·
Windows Vista SP1

Regardless if I have the two options fixed
1- Show thumbnails instead of icons - in performance options
2- Always show icons never thumbnails - in folder options

Is there any way in the registry where I can exclude the flowing:
1- Preview Pane
2- Details Pane
3- in Personalization in Desktop Background

Same like it has been in windows XP

I noticed that when I checked one of the two options the other stays the same although I know that they are for the same purpose

And Thanks

Re-Thumbnail Problem

Any changes you make in the registry can make the computer unstable or UN-operable.
This works in Xp but you can try it Vista.

Disable Explorer Thumbnail View
If you want disable the Explorer's ability to show the Thumbnail View ,

1.Start Regedit

2.Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced \

3.Change ClassicViewState to 1
To Enable change to Zero "0".

Change folder settings:

"Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", "Folder Options", "View", "Advanced Settings"
Enable "Display the full path in the address bar"
Enable "Display the full path in the title bar"
Enable "Do not cache thumbnails" (Enable this if you never use the "Thumbnail" folder view. Caching thumbnails creates a hidden "Thumbs.db" file in each directory that you view as "Thumbnails".)

Please post back if you have anymore problems or questions.
