Thunderbolt Port/USB-C Port Adapter
I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 laptop with a Thunderbolt port and a USB-C port for charging. It’s my understanding that the Thunderbolt port is the same size as the USB-C port, but provides faster storage transfers. Is this correct?
I only have one USB port, so I was going to buy an adapter to be able to have 1-2 more USB ports, SD card reader, and HDMI port. If the Thunderbolt port is better for data transfer, should I buy an adapter that plugs into the Thunderbolt port rather than the USB port? Does it matter if the adapter is for USB-C and not specifically Thunderbolt? What affects the download speed – the cable plugged in/adapter or the port itself?
Thanks for helping this non-tech chick out!!
