TightVNC Install and Use

I am going to install on a server 4 hrs away. I need to access this lab via a VNC tool. I have downloaded TightVNC Do I need to install it on the remote server? I can puTTY log into the remote server. I do not now how to use TightVNC to establish a connection that I can log into with puTTY.
