Timed logoff from user workstation

By 2b's ·
On an NT network with users having Win98, Win 2000 Pro, and winNT workstations.
Is there a way to automatically force a logoff of a user if his station is idle for 20 to 30 minutes?
The reason is, we have a group set up for Internet acccess. Thereare some very remote workstations that are used by shop supervisors. If they get up and leave there station that leaves there PC open to anyone that wants to use it. I know that it can be password protected, but some of these people have a hard timeremembering there name. I would like it to be auto. forced.

Two questions to ask to help me gather information to help you properly.

(1) Do you use system policies? If so, have you explored all the options in the System Policy editor?

(2) Do you use MS Proxy Server to control your Internet activity?
Its been a while since I really played with system policies, because I control a few things and keep it that way (I use the "not broke don't fix it" philosophy)..but the system policy editor is a powerful tool to control access at the user's desktop. Other wise with Proxy Server controls Internet access (you can use scripts with Proxy Server to automatically interact with Internet Explorer even).

Anyway, let me know I will do my best to help you - as I'd also like to know the solution, because its a very good question.

Tom:
Yes, I use Systems Policies. I have looked in there, but I have not researched it completely.
Yes, I use MS Proxy Server for the Internet.
