Timesync errors

How do I fix the timesync problem I have
ON a Novell 4.11 Server?

These are the errors:

Timesync -4.15-137

Single servers are incompatible with Reference and Primary servers and should not follow secondary servers. This server polled:
"JD_PSB_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _?fffff610~j@@@@@DAPT"

The time exchange was ignored!

The I get a DS -5.73-50 error Established communication with server "server name"

Print services are disabled until server is shut down and brought back up.
There is only a Linux box within our system. But there is not another Novell Netware server in our system.

The timesync configuration is set to single in the autoexec.ncf file. There is not a timesync.cnf file. All default parameters for timesync are set in the autoexec.ncf file.

Other errors :

-625 error

Print server received error 276 during attempt to log into network. Access was denied.

Our system may work for about 6 hours before we start getting errors and then we get the above error m

Has there ever been another NetWare server in this NDS tree? Have you renamed/changed the address of this server? What happens when you type DISPLAY SERVERS at the console?

Error -625 is a transport failure. Common causes are downed servers (obviously not in your case), renamed servers or a network address change on a server not registering properly in NDS.

Could the Linux box be running time service, could it also be running IPX services? Most probably IP or IPX address or Server Name on the Netware box was changed, run dsrepair, do a full DS repair, repair all addresses for known servers, repair address for this server, set time sync properties so that the server is not polling the network for a time server by clearing out any time sources defined. If the print server is an older model you may have to allow unencrypted password or the print server won't be able to login. Once again run dsrepair and repair network addresses for this server and check for all known server and make sure you don't see anything strange.

Always sewrch the Novell Knowlegebase(http://support.novell.com/servlet/Knowledgebase) using the error code (-137) as the serch term. so far I am running at 90% for finding my problem in the generated list.
This was about Item 20 in the list

********************
137: SINGLE servers are incompatible with REFERENCE and
PRIMARY servers and should not follow secondary servers. This
server polled: " server_name." The time exchange was ignored!

Source:TIMESYNC

Explanation:A Single Reference server should not exist in an environment that includes a Reference or Primary server.

Action:Check the "Time Source List" in the TIMESYNC.CFG file for both the named server and the server reporting the
error. Single servers do not need a "Time Source List." Secondary servers should never be in a "Time Source List."
