    to browse Internet thru Network

    I am working on corporate intranet and I want to browse the Internet from my workstation through the workstation which is connected with DSL connection. We are using NT server Domain and Windows98, win2000 and XP workstations.

      Well both Windows 2000 and XP have a feature to share your internet connection but, to be frank, it’s a bad solution. Turning the feature on may require that you restructure your IP address scheme because the gateway PC will want to be their DHCP server.

      I’d suggest getting a cable/DSL router from the store and setting it up to work with your DSL. They’re pretty cheap. I’ve seen them as low as $30 US. Also, nowadays, most of them have firewall features that keep people, viruses, workm, etc. out of your network and can even block sites from your internal users.

      Linksys, NetGear, D-Link are the common ones.
