to create batch file

Dear all

I have windows NT server with 25 workstations. I am running sql server as my database. I need to take backup of my database everyday. I would like to do automatically using scripts that scripts has to run in the midnight that stop the sql server and will take backup of all database. kindly provide scripts to me, it will be gr8 help.

There is a process already in SQL that allows for backing up. If you open the Enterprise Manager and select your SQL Server. Then under management there is Database Maintenance Plan you can use the wizard to do your backup.

I have 20 SQL servers in my enterprise and would never consider using the method your asking about. It takes away my ability to restore a database on a different SQL server. Using the tools withing SQL will allow you to dump your database to file and then you can do whatever you want with it.
