To Enable Cd Recording on my Cd/DVd Writer

By john.cb1 ·
I used to be able to put a blank cd-rw in my cd writable drive(f). It would then display the (F)drive. I could then just copy and paste files onto it and it would then write them onto the
cd-rw, i could even delete the files.

It does not allow me to do this anymore ,on some occasions it tells me that the cd-rw is write protected.

I have clicked on the (f) drive, properties, but i could not find a recording tab.to enable the cd-recording of the drive.

Could you please advise me on how to get it back the way it was. Or what software can i use to copy and delete files on a cd-rw disc

Wondering if the above did answer your question. Basically, you must first have the software such as DirectCD or B&H Clip as an example. Usually, CD burner software with two types of software. One for normal use like burning files as data files using drag & drop, copy another CD, burn music CD. The other one is making your CD-R or CD-RW disc as a disk/floppy drive. This is probably what you are missing. Inserting a blank CD and you can make this blank CD act as a R/W disc like a floppy. Only think is, it can only be read my the CD burner. If you want that CD to be read on a regular CD, you will have to close the session. So one sample of that software is Direct CD bundled with Easy CD Creator. You can go to CNET.com and search for some freebee.
