To install Windows2000 Professional

By falguni_karan ·
I want to install only Windows2000 Professional as a Operating System in my PC. So, my question is can I install Windows2000 Professional without installing any previous version of Windows Operating System? Please also tell me where I would find the option to make a start up disk in Windows2000 Professional ? Can you provide me a information that where I would get a freely available burning software by which I can make a CD bootable Windows2000 Professional CD.

If you have a legitimate Windows 2000 CD, you should be able to boot from it.

You do not need any other operating system installed on your PC prior to installing Windows 2000.

If your version of Windows 2000 is an upgrade, then you will need the CD from a qualifying version of Windows. During the process of installing the upgrade version of Windows, you will be asked to insert the CD from the older version.

As to startup disks. If you need the startup floppy disk set, there is a utility on the Windows 2000 CD to create a floppy startup disk set.
