to make my pen drive as botable device to install xp to my lap

i hav Dell vostro 1500 and tag is 2JVVHF1 and my operating system is corupted and my dvd drive is in problem so i wanted know how to instal my OS in USB pendrive i hav pasted OS it and tried many times my lap is saying “pen drive without operating system” so please say me the exat way to install it
