To quit IT security or to continue for 1 yr?

By tsec05 ·
Right now it can be my last semester of school in IT systems and networking which is 2year program. I currently have a huge decision to take either I pursuit my dream in it security or to have a guaranty full time job after school as a system admin..... after my semester. I could graduate .... Or take a gamble and add an extra year to be an it security expert.....

I don't know what to do there to many options available to me. Like it a one lifetime opportunity to have a full time job as a system admin available right after my 2 years or my only opportunity to finished what a worked so hard to be an it security pro ....

Right now I think I'll take the gamble but am not totally convinced it the right decision...

I need help from admins and security experts ...

What are my options....

''So Where the Bloody **** Are You?''

Despite being lost, I couldn't conceive that any two course could make you a security expert and I'd seriously doubt that you could get a job in that field. Take the Sys Admin job that is on offer as it it probably better than any you will be offered once you graduate. A Diploma is insufficient for most jobs, you'll probably end up on the help desk for a lot longer than you think.

To be a Security Expert

To be considered as a security expert, you need some hands on experience.
You can't take some courses and/or certifications and consider yourself as an expert.
Being an expert, means you had spent a lot of time on hands on experience.

Good Luck
