TOE problems with windows server2003

Just wondering if someone can help me.I have just setup a dell power edge 2900 with server2003.I have set it up as a domain controller and the dns is installed.I am trying to join a workstation to this domain but it is not finding the domain.I have tried to ping the server from the workstation but it does not see it,however the server can ping it.
I can't turn of the windows firewall as it is saying another program is using it.Is the TOE funcion casuing this problem with pinging

2 possible problems

First the firewall on the PC will prevent you from pinging the it from the server. This shouldn't prevent you from joining the domain though.

Second, the PC needs to be pointing to the DC for it's DNS server. Change the NIC setting to point to the server and try again.

I don't believe TOE is your issue. If you have network connectivity on the server then TOE is functioning correctly.

Confirm the PC is picking up DHCP correctly. And if it isn't start troubleshooting why.
