too many files open

By kevin ·
I have an associate that is trying to run a dos based dbase program on a NT 4.0 workstation. However, once it is time to print, it gets a too many files open error message. Is there a way to configure the virtual dos window to handle this?
Thanks,Kevin

Kevin,

You need to modify your config.nt file. Change the files= line to a larger number, I use files=99 myself.

I had the same problem. To add to the above, add it to the config.sys file also. I know config.nt rants and raves about config.sys not being used, but my program would'nt run correctly until I added it in both places.

Keep making the number higher until the error goes away.
