Too Many Lost Chains

I’ve been getting the message too many lost chains from disk minder upon boot. Anyway – after an entire weekend of trying to backup, delete files, etc. I finally got my system to boot cleanly. None of the disk utilities I have can help me with allthe lost clusters though – which there are quite a few.

Besides reloading the OS, reformatting, etc. What else can I try doing?

I think I found part of the problem, where Real Player got all corrupted for some reason – well, that’s gone now – programs that use sound still don’t work. I’m still seeking to recover ..
