If you do not want the quick launch tool bar at all, just right click on it and go to the toolbar menu and uncheck the quick launch setting. This works on Win98 and ME, but if you just want to get rid of outlook express I am not sure about that. Hope this helps, Ryan.

Exactly, I want to remove outlook express (only) shortcut icon for all users of this computer from the QuickLaunch shortcut bar. How do I do this?

the folder for customizing quicklaunch toolbar is here :

%userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

So, instead of manually going to all users profile to delete this, you can write a script to check to see if the outlook express shortcut is here, if exist then delete it. All this can be done with batch file. Put that script to run during logon and it will keep all the outlook express profile away from ALL you user profiles.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the help! I am 90% satisfied with this answer. I wish there was some other means of getting rid of the outlook express shoertcut from the quicklauch toolbar without all together removing the quicklaunch toolbar or putting a batch script in the users login script for 600+ users. I guess this will do for now. Thanks, again! Please shoot me an email if you have any other suggestions...
