Toshiba HD

By rtaylor ·
I have a Toshiba laptop Hardrive and it will not bootup anymore. I get a blank screen now, I do not even see the BIOS screen. I have tried to remove it and slave it on a regular HD and even used a HD adapter, and still nothing. Anybody got any clues??

If it will not be seen as a slave on another system then you will have to replace it.

If you hear 'clunking' sounds or the hard drive isn't spinning it's a sure tell tale sign it's caput!

Well if you are not seeing the POST screen you have a bigger problem than just a bad HDD.

Any LCD screen has a back light which may have failed and need replacing so first try a normal monitor connected to the LT just to make sure that you are still getting at the very least the POST screen and if that is the case you'll then have to investigate what is going wrong with your LT's monitor as well as the HDD.

But before I began panicking first try an external monitor just to make sure that the LT is actually working.

Lets know how you get on.
