My boss bought a new toshiba sattellite laptop A100 series model number PSAAKC running on windows vista home basic edition----the laptop was running smoothly without any hitch but ma boss was very uncormfortable working with windows vista so he bought windows xp pro SP2 and asked me to downgrade the laptop for him--i did that and now i have the problem with audio---dont tell me about downloading drivers coz av done that and downloaded almost any other driver u can think of and even became sucessful with a particular one which loaded everything in audio all the controllers and even in the device manager audio is installed but the issue is i cant hear a thing---returning vista sorts the thing out??whats up and in winxp pro the driver seems installed and working fine but icant hear the audio??? the laptop runs on realtek high defination audio--please help coz this vista is oso incompatible with some of his softwares--he needs the audio----heeeeeeelp.

Check the windows audio service through services.msc, and make sure it's running. You might set it to automatically restart on failure, since it occasionally starts then kicks right back off.

i have same problem i installed windows xp instead of vista and have no sound now. did you solve the problem? pls tell me the solution how can I get a sound driver for XP? so I can listen music? thank you so much for help me.
