Toshiba Laptop Wont Boot

by gussy_boy . Updated 17 years, 1 month ago

My Toshiba TE2100 wont boot, says windows has been shut down to prevent damage etc etc. my laptop has no floppy drive.
ive fiddled round with it n taken the hdd out and i wanted to know, is it possible to take the hdd out of our desktop computer and put the 1 from my laptop, then using a boot disk to start it and then reformatting it. i dont want to do too much as i really dont want to damage the desktop.
is this all a bit far out or could it be done? and please any “do’s and dont’s” when taking apart the desktop.
Thanks.
