I shorted out the jumper as shown in photo. I rebooted and the screen came up with a cmos error and said it was resetting to default. It booted al the way to the Toshiba Screen then shut off. There is no power at all. I guess Im out of comission.

If you do not do this properly you always run the risk of destroying the very thing you where hoping to save.
Electronics of any description Do Not take kindly to this type of abuse but from your description it very much sounds as if you have shorted the wrong thing and damaged the M'Board.
I paid less than 300 almost three years ago for it. I guess I got my use out of it. To the garbage can it goes. Im sure a mother board will cost as much as a new unit. I would'nt have paid 100 or more to fix it anyway.
