I’m currently in the IT technical field, specifically, mainframe 3GL and 4GL systems development (Sapiens, COBOL/CICS/DB2…programming). I posses a N-Dip and B-Tech dgree in Information Technology. How does a person, being a contractor, make a transition into IT management without compromising on a persons financial package? Whenever I attempt moving into a more management line, I get confronted with the EXPERIENCE clause, so how does one get into the field of IT management without having the experience? It’s almost like a catch 22. I also think the only way to get justification for my formal qualifications, is to go into management, any comments?
