Trick Server to think it is connected to a network when it is not?

By gary ·
I run a number of web sites from my laptop (setup as a web server, Win2000) using 15 different TCP/IP addresses. When not connected to a network my sites don't work due to Network properties being disabled. Is there any way to make Laptop think it is connected when it is not?

Getting frustrated, Gary

The simplest

way to achieve that is to build yourself a loopback network plug. You get a RJ45 plug, 2" network cable, and you setup them as following, using only 2 wires and not 4 as usual (1,2,3,6):
- connect 1 and 3 on the same wire, 2 and 6 with the second wire.
And that's it, no more problems!
