When Vista came out and was touted as the next best thing since sliced bread, I upgraded my desktop and laptop to Vista Business edition. This was AFTER running the Microsoft compatability wizard and making the recommended changes. I found Vista so cumbersome that within 5 months I switched back to XP on both machines. The OS was slow, unstable, and a major bother to use. Now…..Microsoft is touting their Windows 7, and while it may be much better than Vista, I wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot extension cable. Considering Microsoft’s decision to make Vista upgradeable to Windows 7, yet NOT allow the same for XP users, they have laid another egg as far as I’m concerned. The LAST think I want to do is spend countless hours that it takes to do a clean install. Though I MAY have considered a Windows 7 upgrade had XP been upgradeable like Vista, I will now plan to keep XP until either my machine dies or I die………..whichever comes first. OR…………..I could simply migrate to the Apple platform like the entire rest of my family has done (without looking back even once)
