Go to and download and install spysweeper. It may take more than one sweep to fix it.

Good luck.

Some questions, & a suggestion.

by deepsand In reply to Trojan Horse Downloader.s ...

1) Since you indicate that you found the critter via AVG, presumably AVG also identified it by name. What is that name? And, where does it reside on your system? Did AVG quarantine it in its "Virus Vault"? If not, immediately quarantine it.
As no one product is 100% effective at finding & removing all threats, knowing the identity of the malware to be here removed is useful in suggesting a remedy.

2) Yours is a tech. question in search of a solution; the proper forum for such is the "Technical Q&A" area.
By posting such questions there in the future, you will be more likely to get response from those who specifically look there for questions they can answer. And, such will help those who are interested in "Discussions" to more easily find those that interest them.

Here is what you could do

by amill0.a In reply to Trojan Horse Downloader.s ...

You could try using Spyware doctor or norton antivirus to get rid of the virus ,alternatively you could search the internet for "Trojan Horse Downloader.small.31.AT."
It might tell you about people who have "Trojan Horse Downloader.small.31.AT."
And whether they have found a way to get rid of it.

You may have overlooked ...

As I was looking at this trojan question I noticed that the original post was April of last year! I have seen TechRepublic do this before, bring back old questions.

Not TRs fault

by Tig2 In reply to You may have overlooked . ...

Many people go through old questions and post a new response. Or edit their original responses. Either way, the process bubbles old stuff back up.

People do it in Misc a lot- but it happens in all the discussion threads. It has bitten me once or twice. Now I carefully check the post date.

The poster being too lazy to conclude problem

by jdclyde In reply to Not TRs fault

has a lot to do with it too.

If someone posts a question (even though it should have been a TQ&A instead of a discussion), the least they could do is post what the solution to their problem was.

Have a great weekend Tig!

Take Care JD!

And a good weekend to you.

I am looking forward to the new TR design- they released a quick walk through today. I am hoping that the new format keeps this kind of thing under a better control.
