I have two computers linked together using the internet connetion sharing (ICS)protocol from Microsoft WinMe. I am connected using a crossover cable, not a router. I am using a DSL connection to access the internet on one computer (host). The problem I am having is that I can log onto intuit’s site using the main computer that has the DSL connection but I can’t log onto Intuit.com with the client computer using ICS. I installed a modem on the client computer and now can log onto the site but only at 42k speed not the DSL speed that I would like to use. Is there any reason that you know of that would prevent me from accessing the Intuit site when using the ICS connection(client) on my network ?
I also can’t log onto Sears.com. I am sure there are other sites, but there must be something on these sites that is blocking me. I am thinking it maybe some kind of security issue with explorer but I have checked all the settings that I can think of. It’s just so strange because I can log ontoalmost any other site with no problems.
