Free customer service and trouble ticketing software: Helprace by Satisware

To be honest - Gmail is often overlooked as an example of a solid, albeit limited in functionality, helpdesk. So my advice would be go with Gmail if you're dealing with a small number of customers.

It's likely that down the road you may want more features like filters, SLA for example. Maybe you'd want your own user community with a feedback widget for your users to effortlessly let your team know how they're feeling - and still not pay anything.

Take a look at Helprace by Satisware: Now only you get a ticketing system but also a knowledge base, community and feedback options for your end-users. Now why would you want to go with a paid helpdesk after that?

Cayzu Help Desk

I would look at Cayzu Help Desk ( as they provide a very affordable help desk solution and even have a free plan.

They provide all the features that the big guys have but at a much lower price.

I vote for OSTicket. Only free one I know of that's any good.
