I have a strange situation with one of my personal computers. It seems that one of the tiny pins that connects to the floppy drive ribbon has broken on my motherboard. Is there a way to get my floppy drive working without purchasing a new motherboard? Any ideas would be helpful.

Hi if you can or know someone who has a good desoldering station the you could replace the connector they are easily obtained from most electronic component retailer.
You can Try go down the local Bar Drink at least 15 beers and then try pick up the most ugly Fat Bird in the Place. Bring her home knock the dust off her and then send her home in a cab. Now this will not fix your computer but you will realise there is more to life that broken pins on motherboards.
You could always purchase a floppy controller card, disable the motherboard's floppy controller and install the adapter floppy controller you just bought.
Of course, this card will probably cost about 1/2 of a new, inexpensive MB.
But unless you have exceptional soldering skills and one heck of a soldering Iron, you will most likely only cause greater problems on this MB if you attempt to do a solder repair.
I do like answer 2, even though it really solves nothing for you but the stress...
But your best bet would be installing a secondary floppy controller and disabling the on board floppy controller.
